Swedish Cope
ATTRACTIVE
One of the most attractive log styles today is the Swedish Cope profile. The profile can be finished with a smooth outer profile or it can be hand-hewn. This simple but traditional look highlights the natural curvature of the log and appeals to the enthusiast who loves the Early-American style log home.

EASE OF CONSTRUCTION
Not only does the Swedish Cope look traditional, it presents advantages during construction. It is simple to build and doesn't require any specific method of construction. You can choose through-bolts or Olylog® screws to connect the logs. In addition, this flexibility in construction saves you labor costs.
STRENGTH AND STABILITY
The Swedish Cope Profile creates a full weight bearing arc in each log and runs the entire length matching the arc of the log below. That weight bearing arc means greater strength and stability.
WEATHER-TIGHT
We think Swedish Cope logs are more weather-tight than other log home manufacturing methods. By adding the economical Emseal® open-cell expanding foam tape that is impregnated with a water-based acrylic-modified-asphalt, no moisture can enter the seam. As logs are stacked the foam gasket is compressed between each log and creates an extremely tight seal. This design keeps heat in during the winter and out during the summer. Couple this with Swedish Cope logs made of Cedar, and you have an extremely energy efficient, decay resistant, and beautiful home!
SWEDISH COPE SIDING
Swedish Cope siding is, in essence, a Swedish Cope log cut in half, lengthwise. These half-logs provide the exact look of the true full Swedish Cope log homes, but can be used in many ways, both internally and externally. Many people love the external look of a log home, but want the conventional construction too. With Swedish Cope siding, you can have it both ways. Just frame up the walls and put the Swedish Cope siding on the external side. Not only is it beautiful, it adds more insulation to your conventionally built home.
Other people already have a conventionally built home but would like the log home look. Swedish Cope siding is an excellent option for existing homes. Use the Swedish Cope siding for that same great look as a traditional full log home.

SWEDISH COPE SIDING INTERLOCKING ADVANTAGE
Cedar Knoll Log Homes' Swedish Cope siding has an interlocking design that reduces the amount of fasteners needed for installation, and provides a tight seal between each row of siding. Additionally this interlocking system provides room to add Emseal® between each row for a tighter wind proof system. Just one more way to reduce energy bills and enjoy your home worry free.
